Golden Gloves: OF

Another year goes by another year where the voters mess up their gold glove votes.

In the AL OF gold gloves went to Torii Hunter, Grady Sizemore, and Ichiro Suzuki by my calculations they should have gone to Suzuki, Granderson, and Crisp

In fielding % the award winners ranked 2, 4, 5 overall (of over 1000 inn played). #1 was Coco Crisp. 11 was Curtis Granderson. In range factor Coco Crisp was #1 (3.07), Granderson was #2 (3.06). Sizemore's was only 2.57. In regards to assists of those 5 Granderson ranks #1, and Crisp number 3. Granderson is debatable though I would argue he should have won it, but Crisp with the best fielding %, range factore, and near the top of assists is just a travesty not getting the gold.

NL went to Jeff Francoeur, Carlos Beltran, Aaron Rowand and Andruw Jones.

Of OF with over 1000 innings Andruw had the best fielding percentage but only 3 assists and a 2.67 range factor (Austin Kearns had the 2nd best fielding %, 9 assists and a rf of 2.5) next up was Rowand with a 2.64 rf and 11 assists, after Winn (rf 2.25), Church (rf 2.74), Hart (2.69), and Holliday (1.97), comes Beltran with 3 more errors than Jones but a better rf of 2.87 and more assists 6. Next up in fielding % is Cameron, Pierre, Willingham, and Byrnes, (all with middle of the row rf and assists) followed by Francoeur, who only had a 2.16 rf (but is a right fielder versus center fielder) as well as 19 assists and 1440+ innings. Overall I agree with the Gold Gloves awarded to the NL OF.
